Boot Solutions in Niseko and Hakuba Japan is a specialist custom ski boot and snowboard boot fitting operation. 

Boot Solutions is owned and operated by experienced Podiatrist Ned Buckley. Through a unique combination of medical, biomechanical and technical knowledge, Ned and his team of qualified bootfitters are able to offer clients an unrivalled boot fitting experience.

Men's Backcountry 17/18 Models

Salomon S-Lab MTN

Boasting a clean 2-buckle design, smooth, progressive 120 flex and 47' of cuff rotation when in walk mode, the S-Lab MTN strikes the elusive balance between downhill performance and touring comfort. The Custom Shell lower can be moulded to your foot to ensure a personalized fit, and the whole package weighs in at just 1560g in a size 26.5.

Bootfitter's comments: The MTN Lab caused a sensation upon release, being one of the first boots to combine low weight, touring functionality and serious skiing performance and response. Over the last two seasons, it has become a bestselling backcountry boot, and is back this year with just a name change and new look. 


Tecnica Zero G Guide Pro

Bootfitter’s comments: Back for it's second season, the ZeroG Guide Pro is an ultra-light 4-buckle boot, built on the popular Cochise shape, and loaded with backcountry specific features. Dynafit Vulcan

All this combined with agility in walk mode, lightness and cutting edge technical solutions, including the Ultra Lock 2.0 lever and the Driving Spoiler 2.0. We have improved the design to yield even greater downhill performance, delivered through a more progressive response provided by the new cuff in glass fibre combined with the Pebax® shell. Dynafit Beast Carbon

The Beast Carbon Free Touring boot is the dream of all freeriders who prefer to earn their fun in the powder similar to the saying, "Earn your turns." The Precision Lock System guarantees precise power transmission and maximum rigidity in how it allows all boot components to work together as one unit. You get uncompromising skiing. At the same time, the ergonomic shape and the boot's lightness makes for singular performance on the ascent. The so-called "snow-dynamic" concept with its streamlined buckles and elimination of lateral protrusions ensures little speed loss as well as minimal points of resistance and thus maximum penetration. The carbon fiber material in the upper and shell lends additional rigidity to the Beast Carbon touring boot. In addition, the Master Step Insert enables easier entry by 50% as well as maximum mechanical loads with freeride bindings set to a release value (Z value) of 16.

Dynafit TLT 7 Expedition CR

Dynafit Radical Man CR

A four-buckle polyurethane ski touring boot with the best downhill performance offered by any comparable boot on the market. Descent-oriented ski mountaineers will be thrilled to take on longer tours with this boot. The new Radical offers technical solutions of the highest niveau. You get a progressive flex with outstanding performance on the descent at a weight normally only seen with Pebax or three-buckle boots. And you get all of that at a more affordable price. Compatible with all ski touring bindings currently on the market. This version is available with the new Custom Ready liner designed to provide immediate comfort, thermal insulation and enhanced durability.

Bootfitter’s comments: A great introduction to Dynafit’s backcountry range, the Radical looks and skis like your old 4-buckle alpine boots, but the rockered sole and 60’ of cuff rotation make touring and hiking a dream.


Fischer Travers Carbon

One turn for the perfect fit! Perfect closure pressure distribution thanks to the Lace Frame System and Pulley Guides. The Active Cuff offers a foot rotation of over 80 degrees in walk mode during the climb and perfect power transfer in the downhill ride thanks to Grilamid.

Bootfitter's comments: Weighing in at just 980g in a size 26.5, the Travers Carbon is a serious touring boot that still packs a punch on the way down. Incredible 80° of cuff motion in walk mode and Boa closure on the lower shell give great comfort on long hikes.


Dynafit TLT6 Mountain CR

Dynafit Winter Guide GTX

The Winter Guide boot has been designed for those who spend extended periods in the snow and who are looking for long-lasting comfort, such as professional mountain guides. In addition to ease of use, walking comfort and reliable skiing performance, the internal microclimate can also be managed easily thanks to the liner with a revolutionary patented construction, combined with GORE-TEX® Duratherm L. The breathable, waterproof PTFE membrane lets water vapour escape through the perforations present throughout the surface of the liner, ensuring the wearer's feet stay dry. This hi-tech liner is housed in a Pebax® shell which provides outstandingly natural walking movement and a great range of cuff rotation, as well as superior skiing performance. Scarpa Maestrale RS2

Bootfitter’s comments: Our owner Ned rates the Maestrale RS2 as the most exciting new boot he saw at the 2017-2018 trade shows, and we think it will prove a hit with our customers. In the ever-expanding backcountry sector, gear that is light, easy to use, and that performs as well on the way down as the way up is the holy grail, and Scarpa seem to have nailed it with the Maestrale RS2. Scarpa Maestrale 2

Scarpa T2 Eco

SCARPA has had few boots with the track record of the T2. A favorite among telemark skiers for decades, the T2 has been the go-to backcountry Tele boot since the original version was introduced more than two decades ago.
