Ski Boot Categories
We are proud to offer one of Japans largest range of ski boots, with over 50 models to ensure that we can meet the requirements and foot shape of everyone. We also stock a full size run, with our adults range running from 22.5cm to 31.5cm.
Please note that due to a variation in the sizes of our stores, we carry different boot ranges at each location. For this reason, combined with the fact that we don’t want to sell you on a boot without seeing what it actually feels like on your foot, we do not list our extensive range on our website. We do however provide an overall view of what you can expect to see in our stores.
Technical Frontside/Race
Usually these are preferred by accomplished skiers who spend the majority of their time on smoother, firmer terrain, ie high level ski instructors, racers, or highly technical skiers who spend a lot of time on groomed trails. These powerhouse boots will drive a ski anywhere, while their solid soles, rigid boot boards and firm liners set them up for maximum edge hold, precision, and and stability at speed. To maximise performance, these boots do not come with replaceable soles however we can can install these as an extra at the time of purchase.
All-Mountain Alpine/Traditionalist
Skiers of all abilities will find great boots that go anywhere in the resort in this group. These boots typically have replaceable soles, softer-than-race shell constructions (i.e., easier on and off), and the liners are warmer and softer than the thin, firm jobs found in the Frontside class. These boots offer a blend of performance, comfort and convenience for a variety of skiers without placing a premium on hike modes or uphill mobility—these are great boots for skiers who are not going to ski tour.
Alpine Touring/Hybrid
This category is about expanded options. One of which is mobility—almost all of the boots in this category offer a hike mode feature that releases the cuff for more range of motion during walking, hiking or skinning, along with tech inserts that allow you to use a pin binding as well as a regular DIN compatible binding. These boots are often lighter than an alpine traditionalist boot, however they are still designed to deliver downhill performance. This category is perfect for those who want to use one pair of boots to ski both in the backcountry and at the resort.
Backcountry
These boots are about going up and then down—they are the lightest of all the boots and each model here is tech binding compatible. This category is favoured by dedicated backcountry enthusiasts who have a seperate pair of boots for resort riding, as generally speaking backcountry boots are not compatible with alpine bindings.
